A Liverpool business that offers services to professional services firms such as dictation transcription, document fixing and formatting has secured a £25,000 cash injection.

NPIF – BFS & MSIF Microfinance, part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund, has loaned Bluebird Support Services the cash for marketing and to use as growth capital.

Bluebird was created in 2016 by co-directors Jayne Smith and Leanne Bentley who have a combined 60 years of experience working in the professional services industry.

Based in Liverpool and London, the business offers a range of support services to professional service firms in law and financial services nationwide.

Focusing on outsourcing services for busy law firms and financial advisors, Bluebird offers four main services to legal firms: dictation transcription, document fixing and formatting, PA services and social media and marketing services.

The firm is now keen to expand its service offering to other markets, including surveyors and medical practices.

Ms Smith said: “They (MSIF) are hugely supportive, encouraging and enthusiastic. The funding will be invested in our innovative IT strategy to ensure security for our clients’ data and also our marketing strategy to grow our business.”

The Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund is backed by the European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020 and the European Investment Bank.

Andy Jones, MSIF investment manager, added: “I’ve really enjoyed working with Jayne throughout the process – she understands the legal sector, its demands and protocol and has helped to build a business that supports the sector fully.”
