MSIF backs Liverpool’s Know Group as it opens a second Love Thy Neighbour outlet

The first Love Thy Neighbour opened in Bold Street in 2016 on the principal of healthy eating within an ambient, welcoming and holiday-style setting – now a second venue has opened in Chorlton in Manchester

Liverpool-based Know Group has opened a second outlet of its independent food and drink café Love Thy Neighbour with backing from MSIF.

The first Love Thy Neighbour was established in Bold Street in 2016 and was founded upon the principal of healthy eating within an ambient, welcoming and holiday-style setting.

It proved a hit with people in Liverpool and Know has opened another Love Thy Neighbour venue in Chorlton in Manchester with a £70,000 investment from MSIF, the Liverpool-based equity and loan provider.

Know Group directors, Steven and Nicola Hesketh, opened the outlet in December and it is already proving popular with locals. It is open from 12 noon to midnight every day, and sells a range of dishes including brunch, skewers and snacks, and its unique Buddha Bowls.

Love Thy Neighbour Chorlton has employed seven staff members initially.

Mr Hesketh, chief executive of Know Group, said: “Chorlton has been the perfect fit for Love Thy Neighbour – a true bohemian subculture with a healthy mix of style and substance.

“We’ve been truly overwhelmed by the support we’ve received from the close knit community here since we opened and with plans for lots of collaborations and events 2018 looks like it will be a very fun year for our second venue.”

Andy Jones, MSIF investment manager, said: “It has been great to work with the Love Thy Neighbour team – they understand their unique brand and offering, which has led to their success.”
