A £10m housing project that meets the Government’s latest environmental standards is 90% sold before it has been completed.

Developer Blueoak Estates is currently building St Michaels Park off Lache Lane in Westminster Park, Chester. It comprises 21 homes ranging from one to four bedrooms. So far 19 have been sold off plan. The final two units are available for £670,000 each.

Homes include solar panels and eat recovery systems for the boiler and shower systems. Upon completion an existing pond on the site will be “enhanced”, and there will be native grassland areas and hedgerow and tree planting.

It is one of the first housing schemes in Cheshire West and Chester to meet local Government’s enhanced environmental standards.

Iain MacLean, managing director of Blueoak Estates, said: “St Michael’s Park is a fantastic scheme and one that we are incredibly proud of in terms of its design, ethos and wider ambition.

“While we are seeing the UK housing market slowing down, demand and interest in new builds and in particular low energy homes such as this, is undoubtedly bucking the trend.

“People are generally becoming more aware of the many benefits of owning and running a modern new build which has been designed to minimise running costs and reduce any potential impact on the wider environment.

“This scheme has been met with huge interest since we launched last year and 19 of the 21 homes have been sold prior to completion. This development sits within a great area and there’s scope for choice through the various home designs.”
