40,000 sq ft padel and fitness club coming to Liverpool

Three brothers team up with Applied Nutrition executive to unveil plans for a 40,000 sq ft padel, fitness and wellness complex close to Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium, creating 25 to 30 jobs. Tony McDonough reports

A 40,000 sq ft padel, lifestyle and wellness destination is set to open close to Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium in early 2027.

Club Mona will be located in Great Howard Street, also close to the Titanic Hotel, and will blend the fast-grown padel tennis craze wellness, fitness and social spaces.

This new venture, called Club Mona, is being launched by brothers Luis, Lloyd and Jordan Stockton alongside Steven Granite, chief operating officer of Knowsley-based Applied Nutrition which exports its sports nutrition products all over the world.

Creating 25 to 30 jobs, Club Mona will feature eight indoor padel courts alongside a premium lounge and co-working area, café-style social spaces, changing facilities.

There will also be a dedicated recovery suite complete with hot plunges, cold plunges and sauna facilities and a nutrition, equipment and accessories store.

And it will be home to a commercial gym, Hyrox-focused training zone, HIIT studio and yoga and Pilates studios, as well as a fully immersive wellness suite featuring hyperbaric chambers, red light therapy, cryotherapy, recovery technology and treatment rooms.

Alongside its fitness and wellness offering, Club Mona plans to host regular community events, brand activations and social programmes.

Lloyd Stockton, director of Club Mona, said: “We wanted to create something that feels genuinely different for Liverpool. Club Mona isn’t just about padel or fitness, it’s about building a space people want to spend time in and be part of a like-minded community.

“We’ve taken inspiration from lifestyle clubs we’ve seen in cities such as London and Melbourne but our vision has always been to create something that still feels welcoming, social and rooted in Liverpool’s culture.

Club Mona is expected to open early 2027, with further details around memberships, programming and launch events to be announced in the coming months.
