A season of sport at Liverpool’s Epstein Theatre

Sports fans are well catered for at Liverpool’s Epstein Theatre this autumn with a winning combination of sporting personalities putting in an appearance.

This season includes Ned Boulting’s Breaking News show on 22nd September, when he is joined by Richard Moore and Tim Moore to discuss how and why the Tour de France has become the biggest annual sporting event in the world; why Britain has become obsessed with cycling; and what life is really like on a cycling tour. Featuring the highs, the lows, the scandals of a cycling tour, don’t miss this chance to enjoy the post-race excitement.

Join Everton and England football legend Bob Latchford: A Different Road on 24 September when he launches his autobiography, A Different Road. In this one-off event, Bob will talk about his life in football before taking questions from the audience and signing copies of his new book.

Over 11 consecutive seasons of top-flight football, between 1972 and 1983, Latchford scored more league goals than any other First Division player. A British transfer record holder and icon of his era, for fans of Everton and England, Latchford was a man who truly ‘walked on water.’

A Different Road is a deeply poignant account of a life in and out of football, showing a human face to a hero that few could ever imagine.

Blofeld & Baxter are back with Rogues on the Road on 7 October – a brand new show crammed full of even more wonderful (and occasionally outrageous) reminiscences and anecdotes from two extensive careers spend broadcasting around the globe.

Bastions of the beloved Test Match Special with over 80 years in the commentary box and touring the world between them, Henry and Peter have some tales to tell… And the fun, the games and outlandish characters, from Ian Fleming to Noel Coward, spread well beyond the confines of any cricket ground or studio.

“A show that is not so much about cricket as about what happens in the commentary box and beyond” – Telegraph

Epstein Theatre general manager Rebekah Pichilingi commented:

“We’ve seen a number of sporting legends take to the Epstein stage over the last few years and we are now looking forward to welcoming three new sporting stars which promises to be a real treat for cycling, football and cricket fans!”
