Apartments planned for No 2 Moorfields

Hong Kong developers G-suite Holdings are planning several major residential buildings as part of a construction project in both Manchester and Liverpool.

The developers have bought “No 2” Moorfields, on the corner of Dale Street in Liverpool, and have also bought the historic Warwick Mill in Middleton, as well as the neighbouring London house.

The former 64,000 square foot office block in Moorfields has already been granted permission for conversion into 136 apartments, and G-suite is planning to build more apartments down Dale Street. The buildings in Middleton could be converted into 300 units, is part of a £70 million scheme which is aimed at the Asian investors.

Fergal O’Cleirigh, head of Bermans’ property department, said:

“Property companies such as G-Suite are vital to continue the regeneration of Liverpool by reviving landmark buildings such as these and bringing them back to life.

“In addition to the acquisitions in Liverpool we also advised on G-Suite’s purchase of Warwick Mill in Middleton Manchester which together with the adjoining property London House is the subject of a £70m project to convert the properties into 300 units to provide a base in the UK for businesses from the Far East. This is fantastic news for the North West economy as these key acquisitions will attract significant overseas investment to the area.”

G-Suite, which has an office in Manchester, also owns Cardinal Court in Oldham which it recently acquired for residential development.
