Independent Street will bring its Artisan Market back to Southport this weekend. Andrew Brown reports
Independent Street is set to return to the Southport Market Hall this Saturday (August 1), bringing an Artisan Market to both the historic indoor market and the surrounding streets.
This popular monthly event will showcase a selection of independent traders, artisan food producers and talented makers, offering visitors the opportunity to discover unique handmade gifts, homeware, crafts, locally produced food and drink, local honey, hand-raised pies and much more.
Designed to celebrate and support independent businesses, the free market has become a popular destination for both residents and visitors looking to enjoy a day out in one of the most iconic coastal towns.
Alongside the artisan stalls, visitors can enjoy live music from Jack Hamilton, creating the perfect atmosphere throughout the day, while younger visitors can take part in a free children’s arts workshop hosted by the talented Mila.
Lisa Cowley, founder of Independent Street, said: “Southport is always a fantastic place to host our Artisan Market.
“The Market Hall provides the perfect setting for independent businesses to showcase their products, and we’re looking forward to welcoming shoppers back for another great day of shopping, entertainment and family fun.
