A former teacher, Claire exhibited at the Mall Galleries Threadneedle Prize Exhibition in 2012. Her painting was called Council House Window and Kitchen Sink in The Morning and it sold and became part of a private collection. It represented a dream of being in her childhood home with her father.
In 2016, She set sail on an “unprecedented art experience” and boarded the Mersey ferries with her easel, watercolours, canvas and paints, challenging herself to build up a new and exciting portfolio of Plein air paintings. These works were exhibited at her solo show Expressive Art on the Mersey at The Williamson Art Gallery and Museum in Birkenhead during the spring of 2017.
Since then Claire’s been frequently hired to do commissions for businesses within the maritime industry, one from A&P Group who are a worldwide ship repair company and she painted contemplative workings of the shipyard in Falmouth, Cornwall. It was a six-month project which two large canvas paintings of A+P Groups working dock was presented.
Claire has also completed a number of commissions also for The Liverpool Archdiocese, with the latest painting of the Madonna and Child. She is now making way towards her forthcoming project and is presently exhibiting Global Natures End at the 2019 WSA Open at The Williamson.
The exhibition at Editions will be on display until the second week in September and she will be there to speak to visitors while she paints on three Saturdays – August 17, 24 and 31. Throughout the week Claire will be painting throughout Liverpool city centre and around the docks.
