Accountancy firm had already expanded its team to 250 at Temple Square and has now created 40 new roles at its second base in nearby One Tithebarn. Tony McDonough reports
Accountancy firm BDO has increased its headcount in Liverpool by 40 as it opens its second city centre office – with a total of 150 new jobs in the pipeline.
The business had already expanded its team to 250 at Temple Square after increasing its office space there from 5,000 sq ft to 17,085 sq ft early in 2018. Now BDO has opened its second office at One Tithebarn taking its total space up to 25,000 sq ft.
Located on the corner of Tithebarn Street and Old Hall Street the office is now housing 40 new staff with new roles including opportunities in areas such as data analytics, operations and tax.
Ed Dwan, partner and head of BDO in the North West, said: “Investing in this city brings a number of benefits to our business in the North West through the increased ability to attract top talent in the region and collaboration with key partners in Liverpool.
“This move is part of our ongoing strategy to continue to grow our services and work with fast-growing and entrepreneurially-spirited businesses across the North West and nationally.”
BDO says it has developed strong links with universities in the city and wider region to support recruitment as the business grows. Nigel Britton, director at BDO’s Shared Service Centre in Liverpool, added: “We set ambitious targets to build and grow a team working across all areas of the business – and we’ve surpassed every goal.
“Above all, we’ve developed a team of talented people who are all building their careers within a global accountancy and business advisory firm in a huge variety of roles. Working with our offices across the UK network, we look forward to continuing to build on these foundations.”
