Beer festival offers perfect antidote to January blues

A beer festival coming to St George’s Hall later this month is promising to lift the post-Winter blues.

The Winter Ales Festival, sponsored by Liverpool Organic Brewery, will bring more than 200 real ales and ciders from up to 100 microbreweries across the UK, plus a host of other handmade drinks and local produce.

The festival takes place in the Great Hall and runs across five sessions from Thursday 28 January to Saturday 30 January.

Organiser Real Ale Events says tickets have already proven popular, with thousands purchased as gifts prior to Christmas, and a bumper crowd of up to 4,000 people is expected to attend.

Mark Hensby, managing director at Real Ale Events, said:

“As many will testify, January can be a cold, miserable month where the joy-filled days of Christmas are all but a distant memory.

“The Winter Ales Festival may just be the perfect antidote, allowing guests to bask in the beautiful warm surroundings and escape the winter chill over a pint or three of excellent beer.”
