The country’s leading bike hire scheme has launched its corporate offering, with ‘increased productivity, sustainable travel, and reduced costs’ cited as just some of the benefits of company membership.
Bike & Go’s corporate package, which is the most flexible and affordable cycling scheme available to business users, was launched at an event in Exchange Flags in Liverpool’s Commercial District.
The business offer will allow staff to hire bikes for up to 72 hours from their chosen train station and take them anywhere they want.
The widespread availability of the bikes means that employees can use them to travel to business meetings or as part of their journey to and from home, cutting costs on taxis, pool cars and parking spaces as a result.
The bike hire scheme now offers bike hire facilities at 70 train stations across the North West, North East and Yorkshire, East and South of England and Scotland, with more to open this year.
Property consultants Mason Owen signed up to the scheme in order to support its commitment to sustainable travel and improve its employee and customer offering.
Mark Williams, Director of Mason Owen said:
“Mason Owen support environmental friendly ways of transport, which gives our employees more flexibility in the way they travel. We see bikes taking a more prominent place in city life in Liverpool and the North West. Mason Owen wants to set an example for sustainable travel in the broadest way.
“In addition, as a Managing Agent of a number of commercial and residential schemes in the City Centre, by signing up for Bike & Go, we will eventually improve the quality of the developments we manage. We are, for example, confident that the new tenants of the residential scheme at 2 Moorfields will benefit from Bike & Go.”
David O’Leary, Bike & Go director, said:
“Companies are more aware than ever of the need to reduce their carbon footprint, and offering cycling as a corporate travel option is one of the easiest ways in which to do so.
“Bike & Go’s corporate membership package is specially designed to help cover a range of business needs, from employee benefits to reducing transport costs, and underlines our commitment to introduce as many people as possible to the enormous health and environmental benefits that cycling can bring.”
Bike & Go was recently praised by a UK division of the travel giant TripAdvisor when it was included in a list of the top seven bicycle hire companies drawn up by its subsidiary rental company Holiday Lettings.
