Bilfinger GVA’s Liverpool associate Jonathan Lowe has been shortlisted for a national award.
Jonathan is one of eight North West property professionals to make the final of the RICS Matrics Young Surveyor of the Year Awards.
In his position at Bilfinger GVA, based at No 4 St Paul’s Square, Jonathan advises both public and private sector clients across national office and industrial markets.
In this award, Jonathan has been recognised in the ‘public sector/ academia’ category for his work with a range of public sector clients including the Department for Communities and Local Government, Department for Education and Ministry of Justice over the last few years.
The annual awards recognise those excelling within their surveying profession and reward inspirational role models and ambassadors in the land, property and construction sectors. Hundreds of young surveyors – aged 35 and under – from across the UK were nominated for the prestigious awards and a shortlist of 79 finalists has now been announced.
Stephen Cowperthwaite, head of the Liverpool office, said:
“Jonathan has consistently proved he has experience beyond his years and his knowledge, patience and professionalism have seen him deliver truly outstanding results for our clients. Jonathan has been fundamental to the growth of the Liverpool office and we’re delighted he has been shortlisted in these prestigious awards and wish him the best of luck on the evening.”
Jonathan said:
“I’m delighted to have been shortlisted. I’m passionate about the industry and committed to continually learning and developing to ensure I continually provide the highest level of service to my clients. So it’s nice to be recognised for doing a good job. Hopefully the Young Surveyor of the Year Awards will inspire others to think about a career in land, property and construction.”
Since starting at Bilfinger GVA in 2007, Jonathan has shown dedication to becoming a surveyor by undertaking a Masters (MSc) conversion course in Commercial Property Management at Liverpool John Moores University.
Speaking on the announced shortlist, Victoria Hampson, RICS Regional Director, North & Midlands said:
“We have some exceptional talent in the North West and these eight finalists are testament to the region’s hard working and skilled professionals that are raising standards in the property industry.”
The winners will be announced at a black tie ceremony on 19 November 2015 at the Lancaster Hotel, London and will be hosted by comedian Gary Delaney, regular guest of Mock the Week and writer for 8 Out Of 10 Cats.
