Merseyside’s would-be showbiz stars will have their chance to wow the producers on the Upper mall in the city centre site on Monday, August 21, from 12noon to 4pm. Tony McDonough reports
St John’s Shopping Centre in Liverpool is to host auditions for ITV’s hit shown Britains Got Talent for the second year in a row.
Ant and Dec and the line-up of star judges won’t be present at the centre but Liverpool’s would-be showbiz stars will have their chance to wow the producers on Monday, August 21, from 12noon to 4pm.
The show which has born world-renowned acts such as Susan Boyle and Diversity, is hoping to find the next big thing when it hosts the talent search day at a unit on the Upper Mall in the city’s biggest indoor shopping centre.
St John’s manager Robert Bradley said he and the team at the family-friendly centre were thrilled to have been asked once again to host the auditions.
“We know Liverpool is bursting with some very talented people – we have even had them perform in the centre – so we know that the producers will have some tough decisions to make on the day,” said Robert.
“It’s an honour to be chosen to host the event and for the second year in a row, too. We wish all the talented competitors the very best of luck and look forward to seeing some of them in the autumn on the TV hopefully.”
Producers, Thames TV, said that as with previous years, these are not large-scale auditions and nothing filmed is for broadcast.
Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult and if you cannot come to the auditions you can apply online at itv.com/talent
