Businesses Leaders invited to High Speed Rail campaign summit

Businesses across the City Region are invited to take part in a must-attend business summit this week as part of the High Speed Rail – Linking Liverpool campaign.

Hosted by Robert Hough, Chair of the Liverpool City Region Local Economic Partnership, the event will see speeches from Bernard Malloy, Global Industrial Logistics Director at Unipart, and David Brown, Merseytravel Chief Executive and Director General about the benefits of bringing HS2 to Liverpool.

Leaders from a vast range of key stakeholders across the region, including education, professional services and export firms, have signed up to take part in the Summit on September 4 to hear about the importance of HS2 to the region’s economy.

The event will also focus on High Speed Rail and its role within the Long Term Rail Strategy, setting out how rail schemes will grow and support the Liverpool City Region economy over the next 30 years.

Robert Hough, Chair of the Liverpool City Region Local Economic Partnership, said:

“The business community is getting behind the campaign for full High Speed Rail into Liverpool. This event is an opportunity for those who would like to know more to understand exactly what that means for firms right now and in the future.”

Businesses can reserve their place at the summit – which takes place on Thursday, September 4, 8.30-10.30am at No. 1 Mann Island, Liverpool – by emailing lisa@kenyons.co.uk
