Call for nominations for Merseyside Recovery Awards

Action on Addiction are proud to once again host the Big Lottery Funded Merseyside Recovery Awards, in recognition of the people making recovery a reality across the region.

Merseyside has previously been known for its drinking and drug culture, poor health, and unemployment. Over recent years there has been a massive change in the way in which drug and alcohol problems are addressed, and this has led to a recovery revolution in the area.

The Merseyside Recovery Awards are a way to recognise and to honour the people of Liverpool, Wirral, Knowsley and Sefton who have made this happen.

The shortlisting process will take place from June 16-19th with the awards ceremony on July 17th at The Brink.

A panel of independent judges (to be announced) will oversee the selection process ahead of the awards dinner and shortlisted nominees will be provided with a free ticket for the event.

But first, they are asking the public to nominate the people they feel have made an outstanding effort to embrace and embody recovery.

Nomination forms can be downloaded at www.recoveryawards.co.uk, or pick one up from The Brink – just ask at the counter.

Written forms can be returned to The Brink, 15-21 Parr Street, Liverpool, L1 9EF and nominations will close on Monday June 15th.

Updates on the event can be found by following them on Twitter @RecoveryAwards.  Tickets cost £25 which includes a 3-course meal, live entertainment and a goodie bag, can be purchased from The Brink.
