Champagne bar and restaurant Carpathia, situated on the 7th floor of Liverpool’s luxury 30 James Street Hotel, is promising visitors a nautical themed dining experience to remember.
The restaurant which is now taking reservations for lunch and dinner, following a soft opening in the summer, takes its name from RMS Carpathia, the ship that rescued the Titanic’s survivors. The team behind the hotel’s restaurant say the venue offers all of the glamour and elegance found on board the company’s famous cruise liners. It was named Carpathia in tribute to the work done by the vessel and its staff who saved so many lives.
The restaurant offers a wide variety of modern British cuisine and has recently unveiled a new seasonal menu.
Meanwhile, the restaurant’s champagne bar is the only rooftop bar in the city. The two 20ft long balconies, which will be heated in time for winter, offer spectacular panoramic views of Liverpool’s waterfront and allow guests to enjoy pre-dinner drinks whilst looking out at the historic landmarks along the World Heritage site.
Hotelier Lawrence Kenwright hopes the new menu and the five-star service will make the restaurant a huge hit.
He said:
“I am confident that Carpathia can become the jewel in the hotel’s crown. We have only been open a short period of time, and we’ve already had huge numbers of people from the city and further afield trying out our menu. People are also incredibly impressed with the historic surroundings and original artefacts contained within the restaurant dating back to the time when the building was home to the global HQ of the White Star Line company.”
The restaurant serves lunch and dinner Monday- Sunday from 1pm.
