North West most independent caterers, Carringtons Catering, provided a feast fit for tourism royalty at this year’s Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards.
The locally-based catering firm, which has notably fed Her Majesty The Queen herself, welcomed more than 500 guests during the awards ceremony held at St George’s Hall.
In line with the evening’s aim to recognise an incredible year for the region’s visitor economy, a series of celebratory dishes was devised by Master Chef of Great Britain and Director of Carringtons Catering, Darren Wynn.
Darren said: “It was a real honour to have been appointed as official caterers for this year’s Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards. To have been handpicked to cater for some of the city’s most prominent figures in the leisure and hospitality industry offers a great sense of pride and achievement for the team and I. Being one of Liverpool’s most prominent occasions of the year, it was brilliant to be given the opportunity to showcase our culinary skillset on a mass scale.
“As a fellow hospitality worker, it is rewarding to witness the journey of so many local tourism stars rising to the top and withholding such a strong presence both regionally and nationally. A massive congratulations goes to all 18 winners who scooped the well-deserved accolades.”
To begin the event, which was organised by Eventful, guests were treated to a starter of salmon and watercress, charred cucumber & guacamole mousse or beetroot goats cheese mousse, orange vinaigrette.
This was followed by a main of roast rump of lamb, rolled shoulder & roast garlic, Pomme Duchesse & crisp lamb bacon or vegetables with red pepper sauce.
Dessert was a dark chocolate torte, chocolate soil, green tea jelly & braised cherries, followed by tea, coffee and Everton mints.
