Cavern City Tours is reporting a “standout year” with rising revenues and profits as the value of The Beatles brand to Liverpool shows no sign of waning.
Despite a tough period for the UK hospitality sector, the owner of the world famous Cavern Club owner and operator of the Magical Mystery Tours, continues to reap the rewards of catering for Fab Four fans from all over the world.
In the last few days the company has posted its annual accounts for the 12 months to September 30, 2025. They show a 5.2% rise in revenues to £12.2m with pre-tax profits hitting £3.2m after coming in at just under £3m in the previous year.
Net assets, which includes The Cavern, increased in value from £20.8m to £21m. And the bumper results will see owners George Guinness and one of the original founders, Bill Heckle, will share dividends of £1.5m, identical to the previous year.
Writing in the report, Cavern City Tours finance director Kim Jardine, said: “Cavern City Tours has delivered another standout year, with strong growth across all five divisions, reinforcing its position as a market leader in the global music tourism and hospitality sector.
“The business continues to demonstrate resilience, scale and consistent demand supported by a cash balance of approximately £3.5m and zero debt.
“This performance is underpinned by increasing international recognition, including the Magical Mystery Tour being awarded the Tripadvisor Travellers Choice Best of Things to do Award 2026… profitability remains on a strong upward trajectory.”
Founded by Ron Jones, Gerry Murphy and Bill Heckle in 1983, the business now operates across five strands – The Cavern Club, where The Beatles first performed more than 60 years ago, the Cavern Pub, the Cavern Live Lounge, Cavern Restaurant and the Magical Mystery Tours. It employs around 150 people.
Every year, people from dozens of countries all over the world make a Fab Four pilgrimage to the city, particularly during Beatleweek in August. It is a huge boost for Liverpool and, in particular, Cavern City Tours.
“The company is operating at or near peak capacity during key trading periods, underlining the strength of its brand and customer demand,” added Kim.
She went on: “The Cavern Club, the cornerstone of the brand identity, continues to perform strongly with increased turnover underlining its enduring global appeal and central role within the group.
