Celebrating Bold Street will return to Liverpool on Sunday, July 7

Food, drink and live entertainment will be in plentiful supply in early July with the return of Celebrating Bold Street.

Liverpool BID Company is behind the day-long event taking place on Sunday, July 7 with some of the city’s best restaurants, shops and musicians all taking part in the finale to Independents’ Week.

Some of Bold Street’s finest eateries, such as Maray, Mowgli, LEAF, Soul of Bold Street – one of the street’s oldest establishments, and American Pizza Slice, come out onto the pavement and showcase their delicious menus to the general public.

Bakchich will be laying on an on-street Lebanese barbecue to ramp up the summer vibes, while those of us who love a good burger will have the chance to be among the first to sample Honest Burgers ahead of its opening in the summer.

Soundtracking the event will be Bido Lito!, showcasing a selection of the best up and coming music talent from Liverpool’s vibrant music scene, including some of the artists from Merseyrail Sound Station project, with live performances throughout the day on a special stage located on everyone’s favourite thoroughfare.

Celebrating Bold Street will also include family-friendly entertainment and animation, sure to wow the crowds. The event is the culmination of the BID’s Independents’ Week (July 1-7), a campaign to engage local independent businesses, employees and visitors in celebrating the entrepreneurial spirit of Liverpool’s growing independent business community.

Bill Addy, chief executive of Liverpool BID Company, said: “Celebrating Bold Street has become one of the BID’s flagship events. From a visitor perspective it simply is a great day out for all the family, and an opportunity to find out why everyone is talking about Bold Street.

“The street is magic and unique on every level, not only in the context of Liverpool, but internationally, from the eclectic mix of restaurants and shops, many independent, to the amazing people who work hard to make Bold Street the destination it has become.

“As part of Independents’ Week, it is also a commitment of the BID to fly the flag for our fantastic independent levy paying businesses and the incredible work they do in making Liverpool unlike anywhere else in the world.”
