A representative from the Charity Commission for England and Wales will speak at an event in Liverpool early next month.
Liverpool accountancy firm BWM, which specialises in the charity sector, is holding its ‘Charity Autumn Update’ at the Quaker Meeting House in School Lane on Tuesday October 2.
The firm holds regular charity updates to keep charities informed about the key issues and regulatory changes that impact their sector.
In its presentation, the Charity Commission will include topical updates including a SORP (Statement of Recommended Practice) update, news on its recent guidance and publications, an insightful report on public trust and confidence and also a dip into some of their current regulatory concerns.
BWM managing partner Peter Taaffe will open the event and there will also be presentations from law firm Browne Jacobson on the latest legislation affecting charities and from the Charity Finance Group, touching on a number of issues including managing change. BWM audit partner Lesley Malkin will also address those present.
