The chief executive of Knowledge Quarter Liverpool will address a lunchtime audience at the Cotton Exchange on May 9 in an event organised by Professional Liverpool. Tony McDonough reports
One of Liverpool’s most high-profile business leaders – Colin Sinclair – is to speak at a Professional Liverpool networking lunch in May.
Formerly the head of property firm Bruntwood’s Liverpool operation, Mr Sinclair is now chief executive of Knowledge Quarter (KQ) Liverpool.
He is overseeing the transformation of the Knowledge Quarter which will see up to £2bn of investment and thousands of new jobs.

KQ Liverpool was brought together in May 2016 by five funding partners – Liverpool City Council, the University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University, The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University NHS Trust.
Its brief is to create, develop and promote one of Europe’s leading innovation districts.
Key projects already under way include a £35m hi-tech cancer treatment centre and a new headquarters for the Royal College of Physicians.
Mr Sinclair started his career in the music business, managing bands and owning clubs and bars in Manchester before moving onto to produce a number of major televised events.

In 2004 he was appointed director of marketing for MIDAS and Manchester Enterprises and in 2005 he became chief executive of Manchester’s Investment and Development Agency (MIDAS), attracting substantial inward investment to the city, before joining property developers Bruntwood in 2010.
At the networking lunch on Tuesday, May 9, at the Cotton Exchange in Liverpool, Mr Sinclair will talk about ‘The Disruptive Power of Collaboration’.
