St Helens Council has chosen Aimbridge Hospitality EMEA to operate the new Hampton by Hilton hotel in the town centre.
In October 2024 LBN revealed global hotel giant Hilton would be the operator of the 120-room hotel. Work is set to begin in 2025 and it will offer 96 guest rooms over four floors, plus 16 long-stay guest rooms and eight accessible rooms.
This is part of a major £90m regeneration project for the town centre. St Helens Council is partnering with ECF, which itself is a partnership between Homes England, Legal & General and Muse.
This mixed-used development will also include 64 new homes, a new market hall and 11,000 sq ft of retail space. The hotel itself will create around 25 new jobs.
Located in Bickerstaff Street, will be located opposite a new bus station which will replace the existing dated facility and is a two-minute walk from St Helens train station as part of an extended multi-modal transport interchange.
David Anderson, divisional president at Aimbridge, said: “We’re excited to welcome this new-build hotel to our portfolio, at the heart of the transformational regeneration programme that is getting underway in St Helens town centre.
“We have extensive experience in managing Hampton by Hilton properties around the globe, and we’re looking forward to putting that experience into action with this latest signing.”

Lisa Harris, executive director of place services at St Helens Council, added: “Aimbridge has an outstanding reputation and oversees all day-to-day property operations of some of the world’s best known hotel brands.
“Quality is key to everything we are working to achieve in St Helens and the highly effective management of this important new asset in the town centre will help our borough to retain, grow and attract businesses and boost our visitor economy.
