Late last year former Mersey Ferry turned hospitality venue Daffodil hosted a series of ‘sound healing’ sessions run by wellness practitioner Geniene Azalea and they are set to return in April and May. Tony McDonough reports
People seeking peace and healing in Liverpool have the opportunity to take part in a series of ‘immersive’ events on a former Mersey Ferry.
Liverpool entrepreneur and sound-healing practitioner Geniene Azalea is bringing back her wellness experience, Sound on the Water, that she first offered in a series of sessions in late 2025.
Sound on the Water combines sound healing, reiki, breathwork, hypnosis, and meditation in a single “powerful” session. It will take place over six weekly sessions in April and May.
Venue for the series is Daffodil, the former Mersey Ferry that was transformed into a floating bar, restaurant and events space located in Canning Dock next to the entrance to Royal Albert Dock.
There is no charge for the sessions, being put on by Geniene’s Science of Sound CIC venture, but those booking are encouraged to make a donation, ensuring the “experience remains accessible so people can attend and contribute whatever they feel able”.
Blending ancient instruments with modern therapeutic techniques, Geniene guides participants through a carefully crafted session combining sound healing, hypnosis, breathwork, and meditation.

Using singing bowls, tuning forks, gongs, chimes, and rattles, the sessions create waves of vibration designed to calm the nervous system and encourage a restorative meditative state.
Each session begins with gentle grounding and guided breathing before participants are immersed in layers of resonant sound designed to support mental clarity, emotional release, and deep relaxation.
Geniene explained: “The healing power of sound is experiencing a modern revival. When people step onto the boat, they’re leaving the noise of the city behind.
“The water, the vibration of the instruments, and the rhythm of the breath all work together to calm the nervous system and restore some sense of balance.”
She adds that people attending should bring “comfortable clothing, an open heart, and a willingness to slow down”. Dates of the six sessions:
- Tuesday, April 14 – Nervous System Reset
- Tuesday, April 21 – Letting Go & Energetic Release
- Tuesday, April 28 – Rewiring Limiting Beliefs
- Tuesday, May 5 – Heart Opening & Connection
- Tuesday, May 12 – Visualise Your Future Self
- Tuesday, May 19 -Reclaiming Personal Power
