Businesses in Liverpool city region have just a few days to submit their entries for the return of the Merseyside Independent Business Awards. Tony McDonough reports
Just a few days are remaining until the deadline for entries to the Merseyside Independent Business Awards (MIBs) 2022.
Created by Liverpool law firm Morecrofts Solicitors, the MIBs shine a light on the economic impact of the region’s independent business owners and entrepreneurs.
In the years before COVID-19 the awards had become one of the biggest events in the business calendar. Now, after a two-year break due to the pandemic, the MIBs will welcome 500 guests to Liverpool’s Rum Warehouse on Thursday, October 20.
Nominations are currently open across a range of categories, including the newly-created bar of the year. The deadline for submissions is Friday, August 12. The awards are headline sponsored by Liverpool BID Company.
Businesses can be nominated across a total of 13 categories. These include best start-up, digital and technology, and trades and manufacturing. There are also awards for retailer of the year and best professional services firm.
Alison Lobb, managing partner at Morecrofts Solicitors, said: “As you might expect, there has already been an enormous appetite for the awards this year. There are high levels of nominations across each category and a real buzz among our fellow independent businesses.
“We share their excitement and we want to ensure that as many businesses as possible are represented. Given what many have gone through over the past two years, it will be wonderful to bring hundreds of entrepreneurs and small business owners together to celebrate each other’s achievements and simply enjoy a great occasion.
“Businesses can nominate themselves or they can be put forward by their advisors, suppliers and other peers, so please submit your nominations during the next few weeks.”
