Developer Legacie take contractor in-house to deliver multi-million pound Liverpool projects

Impel Contracts will be rebranded as Legacie Contracts and will help build residential schemes across the city worth tens of millions of pounds over the coming months. Tony McDonough reports

Liverpool residential developer Legacie Developments is bringing an established building contractor in-house to work exclusively on its multi-million pound portfolio of projects.

Legacie has a number of residential schemes underway in Liverpool and they include the conversion of Reliance House in Water Street, Azure Residence close to St Anne Street and Ropemaker Place in Renshaw Street, which combined are valued at more than £50m.

Now the developer has has agreed a deal with Impel Contracts that will see it brought in-house and rebranded as Legacie Contracts.

The expansion means the company has now created over 200-300 jobs in total, with those employed working on a plethora of construction projects over the next three to four years.

Impel and it’s directors have decades of experience within the construction industry successfully delivering schemes across the country including branded hotels/restaurants/residential//student accommodation and nursing homes.

This team has already delivered and worked on various projects across the city in recent years including Reliance House, comprising of 100 high-specification one, two and three bedroom apartments.

The scheme – sold out before building work has even been completed – is set to provide a further boost to Liverpool city centre’s thriving rental sector.

The company is expected to make a series of announcements relating to new development projects in the coming months. 

In a statement, Legacie said: “We’re thrilled to agree a partnership deal with such an established contracts company with a track record for delivering prestigious projects. We’ve worked with Impel Contracts for many years and it felt only natural that we merge our skill sets to provide one expert development and construction provider.”
