Development is part of Stewart Milne Homes’ commitment to build 2,500 new homes across the North West over the next five years, including in Merseyside, Knowsley and Wirral. Tony McDonough reports
Work has started on a multi-million pound scheme to build 68 new family homes in Prescot.
Construction work has begun at Callenders Green, on the site of the former British Insulated Callenders Cables factory, by housebuilder Stewart Milne Homes.
Plans for the development of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes will now take shape following approval from Knowsley Council in January. The first phase is expected to be ready by autumn 2018 with the completion of all 68 homes expected by summer 2019.
Prices for a new home are expected to start from £159,950 up to £339,950 with a variety of assisted buying schemes available such as Help to Buy and Part Exchange.
The development forms part of Stewart Milne Homes’ commitment to build 2,500 new homes across the North West over the next five years, including three developments in Merseyside, Knowsley and the Wirral.
Stephen Daintith, land director at Stewart Milne, said: “Callenders Green will be a great addition to our growing portfolio of developments in the North West.
“Work is now well under way and starting to take shape ready for completion this autumn. When complete, Callenders Green will offer buyers a choice of quality new homes in Prescot, available at a range of price points.
“We have already received significant interest from potential buyers which reflects demand for our homes, as well as the popularity of the area and its location in the heart of Knowsley.”
