Low cost airline easyJet announces five new routes out of Liverpool John Lennon Airport including sunshine and city destinations. Tony McDonough reports
Budget airline easyJet has added five routes to its winter schedule out of Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA).
Less than two weeks ago easyJet announced a new summer route to Malta out of LJLA starting this month. Malta is also one of the five new destinations for the winter programme.
Capital of the Czech Republic, Prague, is one of the other four along with Marrakech, Berlin and Fuerteventura.
On sale from today, the route to Prague will run three times a week from October 28, twice a week to Marrakech from November 13, twice a week to Malta from December 10, twice a week to Berlin from February 14 and once a week to Fuerteventura from February 19.
Berlin and Prague look set to appeal to those eyeing a short city break or travelling for business, Marrakech offers a “culturally rich experience” while Malta and Fuerteventura provide some warm sunshine in the winter.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK country manager, said: “We are delighted to be adding five new routes from Liverpool John Lennon Airport this winter which all offer something for everyone from exotic winter sun to short city hops.
“We are providing more choice for customers from across the region who choose us for our unrivalled network, fantastic service and great value fares.
EasyJet now operates seven aircraft from Liverpool, flying around 2m passengers a year to 32 destinations.
