Liverpool-based electric car charging point entrepreneur Robert Byrne is on the shortlist in the NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards under the Young Entrepreneur of the Year category.
Mr Byrne has grown Franklin Energy from a fledgling venture into a UK leader in the provision of charging points fo electric vehicles with a network of facilities across the UK.
The NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards acknowledge the hard work and inspiring stories of British entrepreneurs and businesses in Britain and in past years have celebrated outstanding entrepreneurs who have gone on to become major household names.
Mr Byrne has made the shortlist in the Northern region and the winners will be revealed at an event to be held Manchester on November 15. He said: “The shortlist is made up of many exciting businesses and individuals who I’m looking forward to meeting and celebrating with on the night.”
Franklin provides a full range of electric vehicle charging solutions, incorporating public and private sector, home and workplace.
“Our vision is to be at the forefront of the UK’s transition to electric vehicles, by providing an electric vehicle charging network on an unprecedented scale utilising the renewable energy generated by solar and wind power to charge all electric vehicles,” Mr Byrne added.
“We aspire to create completely off-grid and environmentally sustainable charging hubs, and rollout a network of these across the UK.”
