Everton Road Health Centre has held an event for the local community, to celebrate its ten year anniversary.
Local residents were invited to meet a range of people involved in the successful running of the centre over the past ten years.
The centre also held a health and wellbeing event, where visitors could access advice on how they can make small, simple changes to live a healthier lifestyle and find out more about the support available to help them.
Organisations, including Liverpool FC Foundation, Everton FC Foundation, LCH Food Health Workers, Adult Learning Services, City Bike, LCH Dental and Health Promotion and Gill’s Health and Fitness all attended on the day.
Jill Cannon, asset and engagement manager at Liverpool and Sefton Health Partnership, which runs the health c centres said:
“We are delighted to celebrate 10 years of working in the community and the pivotal role this centre plays. The anniversary event was our way of showcasing some of the work we do while also providing a range of health support for people who visited on the day, helping them to get the advice they need, on their doorstep.”
Following the health and wellbeing event there was a buffet, for selected guests and speeches from health professionals and partners, including Community Health Partnerships’ (CHP) executive director Dr Sarah Raper, who commented:
“This is a major milestone for a building that still feels as modern as it did on its opening day back on 27 June 2005. CHP is proud to have contributed to this essential community asset that for the past decade has been supporting the delivery of a wide range of health services for local communities.”
