Exhibition Centre Liverpool welcomed visitors to its first trade exhibition

Around 500 delegates attended Wound Expo at the waterfront venue, the latest addition to ACC Liverpool, now home to BT Convention Centre, Echo Arena and Exhibition Centre Liverpool.

Visitors were greeted by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool Cllr Tony Concepcion and The ACC Liverpool Group staff handed out welcome gifts as delegates arrived in the new building.

A ribbon cutting took place at the entrance of the exhibition with Laura Denne and Anthony Kerr of Wound Expo, The ACC Liverpool Group chief executive Bob Prattey and Cllr Concepcion.

Ms Denne said:

“We are proud to be the first event to take place at Exhibition Centre Liverpool. Our delegates were pleased to be the first to step foot in the new building, which looks fantastic. The build up to our event went smoothly and the event has been a success.”

Wound Expo is a two-day medical exhibition aimed to enhance wound care practice among the nursing profession and ends today (Thurs). It will be followed by The Venue Expo next week on September 8 and 9. The first consumer show is The Liverpool Wedding Show on September 12 and 13.

Cllr Concepcion said:

“I am delighted to have been on hand to welcome the first visitors to this magnificent venue.

“Liverpool is a city that is continually growing and I hope with this new exhibition space we can encourage even more local, national and international visitors to host their events in this fantastic city.”

Exhibition Centre Liverpool hosts trade and consumer exhibitions; large national and international conferences; banquets; concerts and global sporting events. The venue features three prinicipal halls, a glazed atrium with waterfront views as well as cafes, meeting rooms and box office. External areas include a riverside balcony overlooking the River Mersey as well as The Deck, an outside exhibition space for events.

It will include an integrated four-star 216-room Pullman hotel which is taking bookings from January next year.
