Merseyside-based national law firm Fletchers appoints new managing director of operational excellence as part of its aggressive growth strategy. Tony McDonough reports
Southport-based national law firm Fletchers Group has appointed Miriam Hall as its new managing director of operational excellence.
This latest addition to its top team comes as Fletchers continues to pursue an aggressive growth strategy which has seen it compete multiple acquisitions.
Employing more than 1,600 people, Fletchers now also operates more than 10 UK offices including bases in Liverpool and Manchester and its most recent annual revenues came in at £77m.
Fletchers was founded in 1987 by Rob and Ed Fletcher and is one of the UK’s leading clinical negligence and specialist personal injury practices. Florida-based Sun Capital Partners acquired the business in 2021 in a deal believed to be worth almost £37m.
In February LBN revealed that Sun Capital had made a fresh commitment to the business in an “unusual” deal that valued Fletchers at £240m.
Miriam Hall joins from leading operational consulting firm Chartwell, where she spent 12 years, most recently as a partner. During this time, she led high-impact transformation programmes across multiple sectors.
She brings extensive experience in performance transformation, having led complex improvement programmes that have generated more than £300m in economic value for clients.
Her work includes supporting private equity investors on operational due diligence and value creation in M&A transactions. She is also recognised for her strong focus on developing people and building high-performing teams.

More recently, Miriam has worked closely with Fletchers over the past four years, supporting strategic initiatives to improve operational efficiency, performance and client delivery across the business.
Fletchers chief executive Peter Haden said: “Having worked closely with Miriam over the past four years, I’ve seen first-hand the impact she brings – combining sharp strategic thinking with a relentless focus on delivery.
“She has already played an important role in strengthening our operational performance and how we deliver for our clients.”
