Hundreds gathered at The Venue at The Royal Liver Building last night to celebrate the official launch of 107.6 Capital FM in Liverpool.
The new Capital FM Liverpool Studios are nestled in the heart of Liverpool One and have welcomed some familiar faces in the days leading up to the launch.
Earlier in the week, songstress Ellie Goulding dropped in to send well wishes and gave away tickets to her upcoming concert at the city’s Echo Arena in March. Much loved TV duo And and Dec joined Capital Liverpool Breakfast presenters Adam, Gemma and Imogen whilst holding auditions for Britain’s Got Talent in the city on Tuesday.
Hollyoaks beauty Jorgie Porter swung by to play the ‘scouse tucker challenge’, gallantly munching her way through some not-so-delectable dishes prepared by Imogen. The Vamps also made a brief appearance at the studio and more guests are said to be expected over the coming weeks.
Adam, Gemma and Imogen will host the Capital FM Breakfast Show each weekday from 6-10am, with Graeme Smith and Sarah Story taking to the helm for the stations popular drive time spot at 4pm.
DJ Anton Powers and local favourite Baz Todd are lined up to take listeners through the weekend.
Guests at last night’s launch included Hollyoaks stars Karl Collins, Jazmine Franks and Sarah George; Dancing on Ice star and local lad Ray Quinn; Councillor Gary Millar, cabinet member for business, enterprise and investment; and West Derby MP Stephen Twigg.
And it was all smiles from guests as chart topper and X Factor runner-up Fleur East took to the stage to give a dazzling performance of her new single ‘More and More’.
Fleur shot to fame in 2014 when she performed popular Bruno Mars track ‘Uptown Funk’ on the show, which is still a firm favourite with Saturday night viewers. She launched her first single ‘Sax’ in November last year, which reached number three in the UK Singles Charts.
