A former William Hill bookmakers in Liverpool city centre reopens as a new hospitality venue offering coffee and cocktails, creating 20 jobs. Tony McDonough reports
A former William Hill bookmakers on Castle Street in Liverpool is now attracting a different kind of punter after being reborn as a coffee and cocktails venue.
Co.Co. serves “speciality coffee” from 10am each day along with a selection of fresh pastries from local independent bakers. Its range includes Butterholic’s croissants and cruffins. There are 20 full and part-time jobs being created.
Open seven days a week, by night, Co.Co. becomes a bar, with a range of cocktails including classics such as Pornstar Martini, Cosmopolitan, Espresso Martini, Mai Tai and Daiquiri. It also offers spirits, beers and wines.
Table service is available for customers at Co.Co. and the venue has half moon booths, exposed brick interior, a range of high and low seating and a neon sign that reads ‘Late Nights, Early Mornings’.

Day Manager Joseph Goulden said: “Co.Co will be a welcome addition to Castle Street, bringing a day-to-night venue to one of the city’s most renowned culinary and drinking hotspots.
“Offering quality coffee, delicious pastries and brunch cocktails during the day, Co.Co will then transform into a bar with a welcoming and up-beat atmosphere during the evening.
“Myself and the team have worked hard to perfect Co.Co’s offering with local suppliers and we’re incredibly excited to welcome our first guests.”
Bar manager Sam Preston added: “At Co.Co, we aim to provide a relaxed environment where guests can enjoy a cup of coffee in beautiful surroundings.
“The team has sensitively transformed the building, adding life and excitement into the venue whilst honouring its unique characteristics that are etched in the historical building.”
