Liverpool building firm Frank Rogers is to spread the message about the critical importance of fire safety in construction and property at a summit this month.

Frank Rogers is teaming up with FDM Training & Development to deliver Beyond the Frame: Fire Door Safety in Practice, a CPD-accredited seminar and workshop taking place in Bury on Wednesday, September 24, between 10.45am and 3pm.

Timed to coincide with Fire Door Safety Week, this event is aimed at professionals with responsibility for fire safety, compliance and asset management across the housing, education and commercial sectors.

Since the catastrophic Grenfell tower block fire in 2017, which claimed 72 lives, fire safety has been pushed to the top of the agenda by Government and the construction and property sectors.

Already one of Liverpool’s best known building contractors, Frank Rogers has built upon its existing team and streamlined its services through its FR Fire Protection division, which specialises in fire doors and fire safety across the UK

Its team has just completed the full replacement of 488 fire door sets for a leading provider in student accommodation in Cardiff, an £800,000 project that started in March and has now officially been signed over.

And FR Fire Protection has now been shortlisted in National Building & Construction Awards in the Digital Construction category for its innovation in technology integration. Those awards will take place in October.

Delivered by the division, Beyond the Frame: Fire Door Safety in Practice will offer interactive sessions reviewing the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Fire Safety Act 2021, and Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, with practical interpretation of duties for Responsible Persons and Duty Holders.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to witness FR Fire Protection operatives enhancing their SKEB by completing a three-day fire door installation training course, offering real-time insight into best practice and hands-on competence.

Interactive workshops will include hands-on sessions led by FIRAS-accredited specialists covering ironmongery, intumescent products, glazing and compartmentation.

Jay Sefton, head of fire door compliance at FR Fire protection said: “People taking part in this seminar will gain CPD points, be able to network with peers and industry specialists and have the opportunity to benchmark their organisation’s current compliance approach against best practice.

“We are now in a new era of fire safety and our industry needs to keep it firmly at the top of the agenda. We believe people will find this event invaluable and help them to provide robust compliance.”
