Grant Thornton announces key partner hire in Mick Frankish

Leading business advisory firm Grant Thornton is delighted to announce the appointment of Mick Frankish as a partner in its North West practice.

Audit partner Mr Frankish, 41, joins the firm’s North West leadership team to help drive growth in the region and arrives from Big Four firm KPMG where he has spent all of his career since graduating from the University of Birmingham.

For the last three years he has been heavily involved in running KPMG’s Enterprise service, targeting fast growing mid-market business.

Carl Williams, North West Managing Partner at Grant Thornton said:

“We are delighted to announce this important hire – the first of two major appointments for early 2017.

“We are always looking to bring in talent, but to have attracted someone of Mick’s calibre is a fantastic coup for Grant Thornton in the North West. He is an outstanding, market-facing, client relationship audit partner and we are delighted to have him.

“I am sure he will be a major asset as we look to broaden our client base in the North West and North Wales. We have been looking for someone of his age and skill set for the last 18 months and it’s a great news that he has joined. I believe this is a clear sign of our confidence in the North West and the opportunities for us to grow here.”

Mick Frankish added:

“After 20 years at KPMG I am absolutely delighted and excited to be joining a firm which demonstrates real ambition to grow in the local market place. The level of investment being made by the firm is a real signal of intent.

“I really like the firm’s vision for growth and the ambition to ‘have a real go’ at growing the practice and I look forward to working with Carl and the team to make this happen.”
