IFB 2014 shows the future of motoring

Businesses and fleet managers wanting to reduce their carbon footprint are being given the opportunity to test drive low carbon vehicles as part of IFB 2014’s low carbon week.

Arranged by the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership, the ride and drive event on 17th July will showcase BMW’s iMobility vehicles including the new i3 and i8. There will also be a number of hydrogen / diesel hybrid Transit vans available. These vehicles have been developed by Liverpool-based ULEMCo.

Head of Low Carbon Economy at the Liverpool City Region LEP, Mark Knowles said:

“These vehicles represent the next generation of low emission vehicles. They are technically cutting edge, highly efficient and very desirable. The vehicles are not concepts, they are in production and available to buy today here in Liverpool. We thank the teams at Williams BMW, ULEMCo and Peel for their help in showcasing the future of motoring.”

The event is taking place today (Thursday 17th July) between 10:00 and 15:00 at William Jessop Way in Princes Dock.

Any Fleet manager or business driver is encouraged to come and test them out while they are here. All they have to do is come to the dock with their driving license and business details and there will be a slot for them.
