Job vacancies in Liverpool up almost 20% in August, new study claims

Job vacancies are on the rise in Liverpool

Firms in Liverpool are read for the September recruitment rush with a new study claiming the number of vacancies in the city has soared by more than 19%.

Independent UK job site CV-Library says vacancies in the city in August were up 19.2% compared to July.

September is traditionally a time when more firms look to hire as bosses return from their summer holidays with new growth strategies.

However, the rise in vacancies was modest in Liverpool compared to other UK cities. Bristol saw the biggest vacancies rise of 45.3% and Manchester seeing a rise of 33.2%.

Lee Biggins, founder and managing director of CV-Library, said: “It’s clear that businesses in Liverpool are gearing up for the month ahead, with September traditionally being a busy time for recruitment.

“If you’ve recently graduated or you’re looking for your next career move, now is the perfect time to ramp-up your job search, with so many exciting opportunities across this key UK city.”
