Bookings open on Friday for the new floating sauna in Liverpool docklands with the launch date now revealed. Tony McDonough reports
A new 30-person floating sauna close to Liverpool waterfront will open on Saturday, November 23.
Online bookings open on Friday (November 8) for the Wyld Sauna which will be located in Prince Dock in Liverpool Waters, close to the Pier Head. The facility will also include ice baths and changing rooms.
There will be four ice baths, two cold waterfall showers, four heated outdoor showers with salt rubs as well as direct access into the water at Princes Dock for a post-sauna dip. Changing rooms will offer Dyson hair dryers, lockers, mirrors and swimsuit dryers.
Wyld Sauna has been created by long-time friends and sauna enthusiasts, Jon Miller and Tom Berendsen. Jon has a background in architecture and a passion for saunas and cold water swimming.
Tom has always made saunas a part of his daily life thanks to his Dutch heritage and father Henk, who instilled the love of saunas and its benefits within their family.
“We’ve always believed in the power of saunas—not just for physical health, but for building community and creating moments of calm in our busy lives,” said Jon.
“Wyld is our way of making that experience accessible to as many people as possible. Our mission is to bring the best of the Nordic sauna tradition to Liverpool.”
Wyld, which is an official member of the British Sauna Society, offers the traditional Nordic sauna experience. Crafted from Thermal Alder, the sauna is also naturally antimicrobial, free from chemicals, and cool to the touch.

Princes Dock has become a popular natural swimming spot, attracting a growing community of open-water enthusiasts. Wyld will have direct access to the clear water from its private pontoon.
The dock is fitted with four oxygen pumps to maintain water cleanliness, and the area is regularly tested to ensure optimal swimming conditions. The water reaches a depth of approximately 2 meters. Life guards will be on site at Wyld.
Tom Berendsen added: ”Princes Dock is the perfect setting for Wyld. Being on the water adds another layer to the experience, with the city skyline on one side and the calm of the dock on the other.
