Liverpool and Chester law firm DTM Legal joins forces with Liverpool consultancy Carbon Happy World to slash its carbon emissions. Tony McDonough reports
Law firm DTM Legal is stepping up its sustainability efforts by working with Liverpool consultancy Carbon Happy World on a plan to cut its carbon emissions.
Based in Liverpool and Chester, DTM Legal has taken a strong lead on the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) agenda. It organised two ESG events in Liverpool during 2023, attracting more than 200 members of the business community.
Now it is working with Carbon Happy World which specialises in comprehensive greenhouse gas emissions management. It uses digital technology to collect and analyse carbon emissions data.
Its experts will calculate the carbon footprint of an organisation through a baseline year emissions audit, including supply chain, identifying the most carbon intensive activities. Then it formulates a net zero action plan.
In August 2023 LBN reported how Carbon Happy World was helping Dubai-based Desert Vipers to become the first cricket team in the world to measure its carbon footprint.
Chief executive Gary Adlen said: “We have seen how DTM Legal has led the debate on corporate sustainability over the past 12 months.
Their belief in making the region a leader in best practice in ESG thinking is backed up by their commitment to embrace change within the company. We are delighted to be working with a committed and enthusiastic team.”
DTM’s Business Not as Usual event, held in partnership with accountancy firm MHA Moore and Smalley, highlighted the opportunity for Liverpool to lead in ESG policy.
Attendees, including business leaders from the region, demonstrated their commitment to ESG excellence, going beyond government requirements for ESG policy to strive for industry-leading sustainable practices and ethical considerations.
