Based in Liverpool city centre, with two offices in the south of the city, MSB Solicitors is reporting a surge in full-year revenues and record profitability. Tony McDonough reports
Liverpool law firm firm MSB Solicitors is reporting an increase in full-year turnover from £6.3m to £7.5m.
St Pauls Square-based MSB, a full-service firm which also has offices in south Liverpool, said its profitability for the 2020/21 financial year was up by a record 25%, compared to 17% in the previous year, but didn’t give actual figures.
Over the past year the practice recruited an extra 43 people across its team. They include four associate solicitors, three new equity partners and a head of department. And, of the nine training contracts awarded last year, all% have been taken on full-time as qualified solicitors.
In February 2021 alone, the firm offered six new training contracts – the most it has ever offered in a full year. And for the first time, this year MSB has also set up its Partnership Programme, which provides senior associate solicitors with opportunities to become partners in the business.
Emma Carey, managing partner at MSB, said: “The past year has been incredibly difficult for so many people, and we have had to work so hard to ensure our clients were impacted as little as possible as we transitioned to working virtually, alongside the many changes to legislation and complexities that we have all had to weather.
“It’s through the hard work and determination of each and every one of our team members, who go above and beyond for our clients, that we have been able to have such a successful year, despite the challenges we have faced.
“Supporting the next generation of the legal profession is so important to me so I’m incredibly proud that we have not only been able to help our existing team members progress in their careers but have brought on a record number of trainee solicitors to help them forge successful careers in the industry.”
