Charles Millett, head of employment law at Morecrofts, will speak at the next IoD Liverpool online webinar and will talk about how COVID-19 has changed the employment law landscape. Tony McDonough reports
One of Liverpool’s leading employment lawyers is to offer an invaluable insight to the employment law landscape in a post-COVID world early in November.
Charles Millett, head of the employment law and HR team at Morecrofts Solicitors, will be the speaker at the next IoD Liverpool online webinar taking place between 9am and 10am on Tuesday, November 3.
IoD chair, David Wafer of McIver Scott Recruitment, said: “Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March, Liverpool city region firms have faced extraordinary challenges. They have also demonstrated remarkable resilience and adaptability.
“Businesses and their employees are now getting used to new ways of operating and this has thrown up a whole new set of questions in terms of employment law. This webinar will seek to address the key issues firms are facing right now.”
During the session, Charles will look at the following topics:
Furloughing
- What happens now it has ended?
- What claims may arise from it?
- Common mistakes employers have made?
New Government scheme – the Job Support Scheme
- When you can use it?
- What it covers?
- What might lie ahead in the future?
The impact on the Employment Tribunal system
- Virtual hearings.
- Delays.
- Will tribunal fees be re-introduced?
How to plan and implement redundancies?
