Wirral’s Leasowe Castle has secured a coveted four-star AA rating.

Following the accreditation, the historic hotel and events venue, previously a three-star facility, was praised for its high standards in categories such as hospitality, service and cleanliness.

The news comes following a 12-months period for Leasowe Castle during which it has reported record turnover and has undertaken further refurbishment to its in-house Star Chamber and Wreckers Bar.

General manager Mike Dewey said: “This is a fantastic testament to all of the hard work that we have achieved collectively as a team to create a welcoming space whereby residents and non-residents alike can come to unwind and enjoy an overnight stay or simply visit for a drink or a meal at our in-house bar or eatery.

During my time here at Leasowe Castle, I have seen the venue go from strength to strength and we have introduced new provisions such as the appointment of award-winning head chef Andrew Wright.

“It was great to see that this was reflected in the inspector’s brief, which noted that dining was very enjoyable, with worthy aspirations towards achieving an AA Rosette Award.”

The report issued by the AA compliments the overall good level of quality, spaciousness and comfort offered at Leasowe Castle, with the historic charm and exterior scoring particularly highly

Feedback stated that the hotel offers “a very enjoyable guest experience, one that found a well-managed and focused team who were keen to please and willing to engage”, resulting in a strong AA Merit Score of 75%.
