Liverpool developer Legacie is behind countless major property schemes in the city and through its Bright Futures scheme has invested in more than 100 young people. Tony McDonough reports
Liverpool-based property developer Legacie has reaffirmed its commitment to developing the next generation of construction professionals through its Bright Futures scheme.
Legacie, which is behind countless major property schemes in the city, has now nurtured 107 young people, providing them with paid, hands-on apprenticeship opportunities that combine real world experience with higher education.
Partnering with Liverpool John Moores University, Legacie developed a programme that offers full-time apprenticeships across construction and commercial divisions.
This scheme gives aspiring professionals the opportunity to gain practical site experience while studying towards a degree-level qualification at the university.
Designed to bridge the gap between education and employment, the programme equips apprentices with the technical knowledge, industry qualifications and mentorship needed to build long-term careers in the sector.
As part of its continued growth, Legacie has committed to expanding its recruitment of apprentices and graduates, investing in local talent and helping address the construction sector’s growing skills shortage.
Alongside degree study, the apprentices benefit from industry-recognised training and the chance to work on some of Liverpool’s most significant regeneration schemes.
Nora El Gendy, who took part in Bright Futures, said: “Having the opportunity to contribute to projects including The Mill and Maritime View gave me real confidence and showed me that my hard work is recognised.
“I’ve been fortunate to receive fantastic support from my mentor, Steve, and the wider team, who have encouraged me every step of the way. I’d highly recommend any student to put themselves forward for the Bright Futures Scheme.”
