LJLA wins a 5-star rating for punctuality of flights over a 12-month period with 86.7% of flights leaving on time in a list compiled by air travel intelligence company OAG. Tony McDonough reports
Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) has secured a 5-star rating for punctuality of flights over a 12-month period with 86.7% of flights leaving on time.
Liverpool was the only airport in the North of England to receive the top rating and and it was by only two other airports in the UK – Birmingham (90.2%) and Cardiff (89.4%).
The global list was compiled by air travel intelligence company OAG.
It is the second accolade for LJLA in the past few months after being voted the UK’s Friendliest Airport by global flight search and travel deals website cheap flights.co.uk
Colin Swaine, LJLA’s operations director, said: “Having worked closely with our airline partners on operational performance for some time, Liverpool now has an excellent reputation across the industry for on time performance.
“We recognise that flight punctuality is important for passengers who choose to fly from here for leisure and on business.
“High levels of on time performance also help to make Liverpool an attractive airport to operate from for both existing airlines and potential new operators too.”
