Liverpool Art Fair recruits legendary guest judge

UK record executive and visual artist, Marc Marot, will join the selection panel for this year’s Liverpool Art Fair.

The former Islands Records manager, known for working with bands such as U2, Elbow, De La Soul and Pulp, will join Angela Samata and Liverpool Echo’s executive editor Laura Davies to judge artist submissions for the Liverpool Art Fair, part of the summer long Pier Head Village attraction on the Liverpool waterfront.

Artists living within a 35-mile radius of the Liverpool City region were called to submit their best work by May 14, to be considered for this year’s event.
Successful applicants will get the opportunity to showcase and sell their work in the purpose built gallery at the heart of the summer attraction.
Liverpool Art Fair has been held annually since 2012. In the new partnership with Pier Head Village, the exhibition will run for the entire summer from June 30 to September 10, giving artists the opportunity to exhibit for over two months.

Marc Marot commented: “I find how artists express their work in many forms completely exciting, I jumped at the opportunity to work with Lucy and the team at Liverpool Art Fair and I can’t wait to see the variety of work we can display.”

Lucy Byrne of Liverpool Art Fair added: “Marc has worked with musical legends of our lifetime and having someone with his experience on the judging panel is so very exciting, we have already had over 100 artists submit works and the final call is now on this weekend.”
