Exchange Chambers, based at One Derby Square in Liverpool city centre beat rivals from across the country to win the Chambers of the Year accolade
Barristers at Liverpool’s Exchange Chambers have won the Chambers of the Year accolade at the Modern Law Awards 2020.
Exchange beat other chambers from the regions and London to the award which is determined by a panel of independent judges. The award is judged on a variety of criteria, but in particular, expansion into new, diverse and challenging areas of law
Other factors included involvement in high profile cases, evidence of the highest levels of service, pro bono and community engagement work and the adoption and implementation of modern business practices.
Chambers Director, Jonathan I’Anson said: “This award is a real credit to our members and staff who have led the way in a range of high profile, precedent setting cases.
“Over the last 12 months all our practice areas have performed strongly. We have also broken in to new areas of law, strengthened our commitment to pro bono work and delivered a range of charity fundraising initiatives.”
Exchange Chambers, based at One Derby Square, Liverpool – is a multi-disciplinary Set on barristers’ Chambers. With 173 members, including 17 silks, many of its barristers are recognised as leaders in their field.
Barristers from Exchange recently secured a major victory for the regional legal sector by persuading the High Court to reject an application to move a major group action from the North West to the Rolls Building in London.
