Andi Herring has been appointed as the first Member Liaison Officer for Liverpool BID Company, which supports more than 1,500 businesses across the city’s two business improvement districts (BID).
Andi, 21, starts his new job today, July 2, on a fixed-term contract with the challenge to strengthen business relationships across the city centre.
His main role as a Member Liaison Officer will be to act as the ‘go to’ person for the many various groups operating within the city centre and to engage with companies on exploring opportunities to develop their business.
He arrives just as the BID Company, which recently recruited two new liaison apprentices, is in the process of developing an App for the city centre to be launched in early October.
Before joining the BID team, Andi attended Liverpool Hope University studying Education and Geography and in 2012 took on a work placement for Liverpool City Council, where he was heavily involved with the development of the Stanley Street Quarter project.
Part of his work experience was to work closely with stakeholders to set-up and help lead Stanley Street Quarter which has since become one of Liverpool’s best known Community Interest Companies.
Upon joining Liverpool BID Company, Andi said:
‘’I am very happy to be joining the BID team and I hope I can bring a passion for all things Liverpool – fresh ideas and outlooks to the table. Overall, I want to make sure all businesses can benefit from being part of the BID.’’
Bill Addy, CEO of Liverpool BID, said:
‘’I am pleased that we have been able to recruit another important element of our member facing staff. Andi has in a relatively short time gained a wealth of experience in liaising with and representing stakeholders, this will be invaluable to us as we continue to deliver enhanced services to our members across the city centre.’’
