MIPIM runs from today (Tuesday, 10th) until Friday. The 4-day real estate exhibition and conference takes place each year in March and connects more than 20,000 international property professional; and Liverpool has taken a stand at the event for more than a decade.

The private sector-funded mission, organised by Marketing Liverpool, is being led by Mayor Joe Anderson and includes 30 businesses – more than double last year’s number.

New sponsors this year include Arup, Active Profile, Chrysalis Fund, City Residential, Colliers International, Curtins Consulting, Falconer Chester Hall, Glenbrook Property, GVA, Innov8 Safety Solutions, ISG, KPMG, Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, Liverpool John Moores University, Pochin Construction, Redrow, Morgan Sindall, Jaguar Land Rover, Sigma Capital and the University of Liverpool.

They join existing MIPIM Cannes sponsors Brabners, Bruntwood, Countryside Properties, Deloitte, Downing, Grosvenor, Liverpool John Lennon Airport, Liverpool BID and Peel.

During the week, Mayor Anderson and other business representatives will meet with would be investors to share opportunities for development in Merseyside, and there will be a number of special events held at the Liverpool stand.

Private sector delegation leader Sean Beech, a partner with accountancy firm Deloitte, said:

“The event has had overwhelming support from the private sector showing the increasing strength of the industry and a real willingness to push the city to the next level.

“Liverpool is the best kept secret and we want to make sure it is seen globally as having the commercial edge.”
