Entries are now open for the Liverpool Hospitality Association (LHA) People Awards for 2024.

Held in association with Saffron Vanilla and Liverpool ONE, the awards are a chance to celebrate the talented individuals at the heart of Liverpool’s bustling hospitality and retail industry.

They have an extra resonance in the current economic period when so many hospitality businesses, and their teams, are working extra hard to bring people through the doors.

These awards will honour the unsung heroes who demonstrate dedication, resilience, and commitment in an industry that has faced unprecedented challenges over the last few years.

Featuring 17 awards categories, the event will take place on Thursday, May 9, at the Titanic Hotel and Rum Warehouse.

Award categories include ‘Rising Star’ and ‘Unsung Hero’, as well as the Judges and Chairman’s awards that aren’t open for entry but recognise inspirational figures from within the sector.

New for 2024 is the ‘Excellence in Retail’ award which will highlight an individual who is a true champion of delivering consistently great customer service.

Steven Hesketh, vice-chair of LHA, said: “Amid the challenges and triumphs of our ever-evolving hospitality and retail landscape, the People Awards give us a chance to highlight the exceptional individuals and teams who fuel our industry’s resilience and innovation.

“I am proud to witness the unwavering commitment and passion displayed by our members. These awards are not just a recognition but a celebration of the heart and soul of Liverpool’s hospitality industry.

“We hope as many businesses as possible will join us in applauding the remarkable people that make Liverpool’s hospitality sector truly exceptional.”

Stephen Ramsden, director of platinum sponsor Saffron Vanilla, added: “As a local agency that provides staff for the hospitality sector, we are absolutely thrilled to be sponsoring the People Awards for the second year in a row.

“We hope to build on last year’s success and honour Liverpool’s hospitality and retail workforce. If this year is anything like last year, it’s going to be one hell of an event.”

And Donna Howitt, place strategy director at award sponsor, Liverpool ONE, also said: “Liverpool is known for its excellent hospitality, customer service and warm welcome.

“Whether it’s a weekend visit, a day out with the family or a casual meal after work, the hospitality sector plays an important role in the overall customer experience a visitor has of a destination.

“We’re thrilled to sponsor the Liverpool Hospitality People Awards, recognising the outstanding talent across the sector. We also welcome the new retail category as part of the awards this year.”
