Yara Ali-Adib, a discrimination expert at Broudie Jackson Canter, is joining the executive committee of the Discrimination Law Association
A discrimination expert at Liverpool law firm Broudie Jackson Canter has been appointed as a trustee of the Discrimination Law Association (DLA).
Yara Ali-Adib, who has experience in working on high-profile discrimination cases, has been appointed to the organisation’s executive committee, joining a range of discrimination law practitioners, policy experts and academics.
The DLA is a not-for-profit organisation that works to improve the support and assistance available to people who are, or who may be, facing discrimination. The organisation, which was founded in 1995, helps to shape policy and influence positive change.
A civil liberties activist, Yara, whose background involves working for trade unions and non-governmental organisations, as well as teaching at Edinburgh Law School, is committed to ensuring the Equality Act is upheld through her work with Broudie Jackson Canter.
She said: “I’m incredibly passionate about raising the awareness of accessing justice among those who have experienced discrimination. As part of our work at Broudie Jackson Canter, we strive to break down financial barriers through our Legal Aid offering.
“The charity is committed to promoting equality and I look forward to working with like-minded individuals on the board to help achieve this goal.”
In keeping with Broudie Jackson Canter’s commitment to making a positive difference to people’s lives, Yara will be involved in writing equality case law updates, hosting events and organising the DLA’s annual conference.
